Did you know about BLUMHOUSE GAMES

Published

on

So I was today years old when I discovered that BLUMHOUSE also has BLUMHOUSE GAMES! With Fear the Spotlight being released this past October on all platforms I had no idea that there were even more games in development at this time. Since this made me feel like I have been living under a rock I wanted to make sure I informed other gamers like myself about the new Horror games coming.

I just started receiving ads for Fear the Spotlight late last night and was shocked to learn that it had released October. Hit the link this morning since I knew I wanted to write about it and found way more on the way. Here are the games available and in development over at BLUMHOUSE GAMES.

Fear the Spotlight – Available Now

Developed by Cozy Game Pals, Fear the Spotlight is described as “A creepy love letter to classic 90s teen horror stories, Fear the Spotlight is designed for a modern audience. Sneak into a school after hours with Vivian and Amy, survive a seance gone wrong, solve tactile puzzles, and uncover the disturbing mystery behind a school tragedy decades before. And, whatever you do, stay out of the spotlight.”

You play as Vivian who is looking for her friend Amy who went missing after they decided to sneak into their school to use the Ouija Board to contact the sprirts at the school due to a tragedy years prior. Fear the Spotlight looks like something kid me would have definitely been begging for.

Fear the Spotlight is available on all major platforms

CRISOL: THEATER OF IDOLS – In Development

The game is currently being developed by Vermila Studios, I don’t have much information but we do have a description and short teaser trailer!

Dive into a unique first-person horror adventure where folklore and religion intertwine in a nightmarish version of Spain. Players will navigate a world steeped in eerie legends and sacred rituals, facing terrifying statues of saints that come to life. In a desperate fight for survival, players must sacrifice their own blood to use as ammunition against the horrors that lurk around every corner.

So far no release date information is available.

Grave Seasons – In development

I’m kinda happy to see the move to these pixelated looking games mainly because I know the story is usually well thought out since what it lacks in graphics usually is made up for in story. This doesn’t have a release date but once more information is released it will get a separate update. This game is being developed by Perfect Garbage.

Grave Seasons is described as “A charming pixelated farming and town simulation game where, amidst all the relationship building and crop harvesting, players must figure out which of the townsfolk is a supernatural serial killer. Uncover the hidden secrets of Ashenridge, find a way to stay one step ahead of the murderer… and maybe save the next victim.”

Project C – In Development

Project C is being developed by Half Mermaid Productions. While I haven’t been able to fins a trailer I do have a short description “An ambitious game from the minds of Sam Barlow (Her Story, IMMORTALITY) and Brandon Cronenberg (Possessor, Infinity Pool). Prepare to have your mind broken by Half Mermaid’s most twisted vision yet.”

Looks like we will need to wait a bit longer for a trailer and release date but I will update once the information becomes available!

Sleep Awake – In Development

Sleep Awake is being developed by EYES OUT it is described as “From Cory Davis (Spec Ops: The Line) and Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails) comes a first-person psychedelic horror set in the far future. In the last known city on Earth, people are disappearing in their sleep. Those who remain exist in a crisis of reckless experiments to keep awake. Katja must navigate depraved death cults, otherworldly forces, and the ever-present horror of The HUSH, to save herself and those who rely upon her.”

Not much information has been released and an update will occur once we have more. Until then here is the short teaser trailer!

The Simulation – In Development

The Simulation is currently being developed by Playmestudio. It looks like a first person pixelated horror mystery. Here is what I know so far “A never-before-seen horror game is the only evidence found at a crime scene. As a retired game designer hired to investigate the case, you find a hidden mode that plunges you into a rabbit hole of the unknown. As more obscure games are uncovered, cross the fourth wall of their worlds and delve deep into terrifying truths that transcend their own reality…”

The teaser does look interesting and this will be updated as more information is released!

With all of the games they currently have in development I can’t wait to see what updates or releases we receive in 2025. For now it’s time to watch some streamers play Fear the Spotlight and hopefully witness a speedrun one day!

Have You Heard About Presence?

Something Wicked This Way Comes: The Presence Hits Theaters January 2025

Published

Presence Night of the Living Dread

Alright, horror fam, what it do? Steven Soderbergh aka the guy who gave us KIMI and Ocean’s Eleven is stepping into the haunted house game with his new film Presence, hitting theaters January 24, 2025. And let me tell you, this isn’t your typical “things go bump in the night” situation. Nope, Presence flips the script by telling the story entirely from the ghost’s point of view. Yeah, you read that right, this one’s for all you fans of fresh horror twists.

What’s the Deal with Presence?

Picture this: a family moves into what looks like your average suburban home, and things get… weird. Only this time, instead of us seeing the family freak out over random cold spots and creepy whispers, we’re living it through the ghost’s eyes. It’s a perspective we don’t get often, and honestly, I’m hyped. The end of the trailer makes it clear, this isn’t Casper. This ghost has beef.

Who’s in It?

We’ve got a solid cast bringing the scares:

  • Lucy Liu as Rebecca (probably the one holding this family together)
  • Chris Sullivan from This is Us as Chris (likely the dad who doesn’t believe in ghosts until it’s too late)
  • Callina Liang as Chloe (the kid who sees the ghost first, I’m calling it now)
  • Eddy Maday as Tyler
  • West Mulholland as Ryan
  • And Julia Fox with a cameo as the real estate agent who probably should’ve disclosed some… extra details about the house.

Oh, and it’s written by David Koepp, the dude who penned Panic Room and Jurassic Park. So yeah, we’re in good hands.

Why This One’s Different

The big thing here? The whole movie is filmed in first-person perspective. Imagine being the ghost, lurking in shadows, messing with the lights, and watching the chaos unfold. It’s like Paranormal Activity meets Hereditary but make it artsy. It premiered at Sundance this year, and Neon snagged the rights for a cool $5 million. I do find it necessary to mention a movie with a similar style In A Violent Nature where it is shot following the Jason Voorhees styled character.

Early Buzz

Critics who caught it at Sundance are already calling it “an excellent horror romp” (thanks, IGN). Apparently, the scares hit hard, and the unique POV keeps things feeling fresh and unsettling. Finally, a ghost movie that doesn’t just look like every other ghost movie.

Watch the Trailer

Listen, you don’t need me to oversell this. Check out the trailer below and prepare to add this one to your watchlist. Also the stair scene… we have all been there!

Werewolves 2024 releases December 6

What happens when the Super Moon that caused over 1 billion people to die spins the block?

Werewolves 2024 Night of the Living Dread

So recently I saw the trailer for Werewolves 2024 and the story is interesting and dare I say… unique!

In WEREWOLVES, a supermoon event has triggered a latent gene in every human on the planet, turning anyone who entered the moonlight into a werewolf for that one night. Chaos ensued and close to a billion people died. Now, a year later, the Supermoon is back.

The werewolf design actually looks kind of cool and while I know this will be action and horror, I just hope the story is worth the run time. We have Frank Grillo taking the lead role in their fight against werewolves. I

I’ll be there and can let you know if it’s worth your time and money.
